Am I the 1st one who has to replace hatch struts? My hatch won't open without help anymore.

My 03 had the rear gate struts replaced about a month ago. It was closing too quick and easy.

They had been a bit weak for a long time.

Mine went out in the very cold weather we had earlier this fall/winter...mine weren't covered under my extended warranty I also had to replace the lock in the back last year as it "froze" up (that was under original warranty)...that is when the dealer techs broke all the latch pieces on the back cover panel (they claimed they couldn't get it fixed without breaking them)...took me two more trips to get all of that fixed. If it is any consolation I drove an old woody K wagon and had to replace them on it as well (please don't laugh it was actually pretty practical in the pre-mini van days, and beats the mini-van I feel I was almost forced to drive for two years when my younger daughter was born...I try not to blame her even years later

Mine are slow/weak when it is really cold. Luckily it hasn't been really cold this year.
