annoying hiss
 

i have searched the archives, but have come up with nothing. my 2004 ar is hissing. happens when car is on, radio and climate control are off. it sounds like it is coming from the speakers, and it sounds like consistent "white noise." happens when driving and when stopped. i really don't think this has anything to do with the suspension. it really sounds like tape hiss. any others with this problem? any ideas?

By any chance do you have a Nextel phone in the car? I used to have a similar problem in a different car.

well, dealer today said they will replace the amp. let's hope that fixes the problem. it will take them a few days to get it. i'll let you know if that was the problem. until then, i'm motoring around in a SWEET sentra. i wish the dealer gave audi service cars!

well, after first telling me that the new amp would be in this morning, the stealership now tells me that it is backordered. they don't have any in stock in the u.s. and they don't even have any in germany. i have no idea how long i will have to wait. this annoying hiss just got a lot more annoying!
