For anyone that is about to sell a '01 allroad...consider a swap...
I am hoping to find a willing participant to swap out your 'mostly red' 2001 tail lights with smoked center for my '02 tails which feature a orange blinker section and unsmoked middle. Mine are absolutely flawless and would expect yours to be as well. I will cover all shipping of course as long as you can ensure a carefully packaged box. Is someone out there willing to help a fellow allroader out?

Boy, that is funny, I have seen two allroads now with that white strip
actually smoked? I figured all the 2001's have this. Maybe not? Or maybe the two I saw bought some Euro version that may come on an A6 Avant? Look at the photo of the MTM crashed allroad in the post below - it has the same smoked center...I guess it isn't going to be that easy...

that white strip is the reverse/backup light, think it might be the angle you're looking at that
makes it looked smoked.doesn't help that the picture i took had a flash either. : )
JBo's been looking for someone to change his 01 tail lights for 02 or newer. don't know if he found a willing trader yet or not.

Thanks. I am confident I have seen a 'smoked' back up light...
must have been purchased. It was on an allroad and I have seen them on A6/S6 wagons too...I guess the hunting begins... ;p

If I find where my 2001 spare set is, you're welcome to them.
They've been going around for people to do their smoked tail mod and they're out there somewhere. Not sure what condition, but I'm sure they're fine. Anyone know where they are?
BTW, I think my reverse lights are smoked.

my are smoked without the flash of a camera(compared to other cars) so i would say you're alright if
you can find someone with 01 lights that wants to trade. didn't realize that was different from 02's
