At their core, they are very similar. The differences are the mounting brackets, the intake hose, wiring harness connections and attached thermistor. The MB pump (P-2192) does not use a thermistor.

Default Temp Sensor

Hi Folks,
I've got the same problem on my Q7. The sensor is showing an increase in resistance as it gets hotter. The problem i have is it seems to be a non-replaceable part. I can get it out but its just a solid blob.
Do i risk trying to make a new one rather than shell out the £400 for a compressor i dont need...

Ideas on a post card :-)

Hi jason, the resistance (ohms) should get less as it gets hot (closer to zero)

what are the error codes? do you get over heat straight away with the key on, or only after the compressor is running for a while?

does the compressor ever run with the key out the car?

if it is just a faulty sensor, i have old compressors i break for spares, send me an e-mail or a photo of the sensor to see if i have the correct one for your car,

let us know what the error symptoms are 1st to make sure the compressor is not actually overheating.

regards

Andy
