Default AR test drive question

All,

I'm going to look at an used '02 Allroad with 20K miles this weekend. Is there any known problems I should look out for and check out on the test drive?

Thanks!

Paul

Default Problems to look out for...

Grin may seem permanently attached to face during and after test drive. This condition may be fixed by climbing into lesser vehicle to leave the dealership.

Tough negotiating skills will be hampered by urge to just throw you wallet at the sales guy and perhaps turn over offspring to get the keys.

You will get weird looks as you play with the suspension, attempting to perceive its slow movement. Don't worry, this feeling turns to smugness once you own the car.

Sore neck from high torque plus quattro. If you buy the car your muscles will acclimate over time.

Yeah. Cramped-up cheek muscles from that grin are dangerous.

Default do a search on "wobble" and then "tip lag" ..........

those are the only "common" probs I'm aware of.

Default Brake rotors and pads

Need to be replaced from time-to-time. You'll know it when slowing down from 70 mph to 50 mph - the steering wheel shakes a bit.

Easy fix.

Default Re: Brake rotors and pads

On my wifes AR we have gone thru 2 sets of rotors on the rear and just had the fronts turned again. Hope it goes away. I think the dealers like the work, but I hate spending the time on getting it done every 10 12k.

Default Re: AR test drive question

I would check with the dealer and ask him to look up the service history via the VIN #. The only issues that I have had is the ESP and the Y boot intake duct. The Y boot is a common problem since they seem to split. Are you purchasing from an Audi dealer, getting the Audi assured warranty. If not I would look into an extended warranty.

Default Is this work covered by the warranty?

Does the Audi warranty cover replacing the rotors and pads?
