More follow up....
I spoke with the Service manager at Jack Daniels Audi...(not my dealer) He sees the COMPLETE CARE(Universal Underwritting) extended warranty as being better.. less exclusionary, than the Audi. His problem with Audi is it is restrictive and it is a third party provider (JM+A GROUP)http://www.jmagroup.com/index.asp, that is using another outsourced administrator.
Hmmm.....

Anchor..my dealer
gave me the 2350 down from 2800 on the Audi. I have a call in to JD, am awaiting a repply. It was their service manager who suggested the Complete Care instead of the Audi.

Just be careful, whatever you do...
Whatever you settle on, find out if the warranty company uses a Risk Retention Group before you sign up...bad news if they do.
I did a quick search on the Audi warranty company (JM&A). They are members of BBB with satisfactory record. But also discovered they are part of Fidelity Warranty Company. Searched on that and found:
http://consumeraffairs.com/auto_warranty/fidelity.html
May just be a few isolated cases, but tells you a little something about what to watch out for.
And also...
http://www.jameshoyer.com/problem_carwarranty.html#more
That last one seems to be more a problem with dealers ripping people off than the warranty itself. Which is what disturbed me about the JM&A website in the first place...it seems to be geared toward the dealer and how profitable the warranty sale will be for them, rather than focusing on the merits of the product the consumer is getting.
All I can say is, do your homework before you buy!
