Autocrossing an Allroad

Autocrossing an Allroad
Have anyone taken their allroad to an auto-x?
Do you have a Tip or manual and what mods do you have?
On a tip- how much does the tip lag hurt your times and does it tend to hesitate coming out of corners?
Finally, does anyone have any impressions of the NASA?

Re: Autocrossing an Allroad
I have a six-speed, so I cannot help you with tip issues. Otherwise, my observations are:
1. tire pressures- for autocross purposes run a big differential between front and rear tire pressures. I have gone as far as 44-34 for tight courses; if you have a lot of slaloms in your course that may be too much.
2. smoothness- you cannot quite throw this baby around. Getting over the edge results in terminal understeer- learn the limits and stick to this side of them. 180 degree turns are best negotiated with slower entry so you can take advantage of the cars' torque to get decent exit speeds.
3. gentle modification- PSK bar makes a big difference but strictly speaking takes you out of the stock scca classes. An argument can be made that since it is available as an option in the A6 line for the same model year, you may get away with it. In addition, tires- I run S03s but to make this car competitive in G-stock you have to have race rubber.
Have fun. All things considered, the allroad acquits itself well.

To be honest the car is just to FAT to run at the head of the SCCA Class
even with a set of shocks (yea) and tires. But you can still have FUN!! and Scare the ( ) out of 3 friend riding with you. Dog in back, Priceless.
