Bad Torque Converter and Flywheel on TIP
Any of you guys out there every had to replace the torque converter on the TIPs?
Well mine went bad and it was giving me a CEL. So it's sitting in the shop now getting fixed. The TC is getting repaired, they said they will make it stronger than stock.
While the tranny is opened, they also told me my flywheel is warped! They said the outter ring of the flywheel is bending inwards (making the flywheel bend into a bowl-like shape), not very visible by the nake eye. So I got a new Audi one since it was only $250 and it's been in the shop for 2 weeks!
When they told me the flywheel was bending, I was like WTF!!! That thing is close to ONE inch of steel! Does this really happen? The diagnostic computer did read the TC code and it read "Torque Converter...No Power" Teh shop said this meant that my TC was dead and none of the clutches are coming out.
What's your take on this???
THANKS!

I was warned mine might need to be replaced
The indy that recently replaced my TC told me that sometimes the bolts that hold the converter to the flex plate cannot be removed without causing damage to the flex-plate. As a result the flex plate may need to be replaced, fortunately this didn't happen to mine.
