Default Brembo 17z - spacing issue

I mocked up the 17z brembos and found the the Volvo 70r rotors I’m using don’t center within the brake caliper. In my research, I found that people were just shaving down the pad supports so that the rotor would not rub on these little bars that stick out from the
caliper. This might be fine and may work without any issues but I couldn’t help to think that there might be a better way.

First off, these rotors were chosen because the hub size was the same and he thickness was correct for the Calipers versus using the Mercedes rotors that has 4mm thinner rotor. Both have very close hat heights to center the rotor.

Anyhow, can I just put 5 washers in between the rotor and hub to make up the centering difference. There should still be plenty of hub height to center the rotor.

Check out rotorlab.com/caliper-modifications. They have pictures there of how to shave a bit from the caliper mounting tabs so the rotors sit perfectly in the center of the caliper (pictured are the 18zs but the same issue with the 17zs and the Volvo rotors.). The rotor should be centered in the caliper. Love the allroad caliper decal!

Thanks for the heads up BD. Shaving the caliper ears is def the best way to do this. I will certainly be going this route. Thanks again for the quick and precise reply.
