Default 2002 Alpaka Beige called...

My car needs to come in for service again. It was a little sluggish on the highway. The shifts were smooth but the pickup strained to get up to speed. What do you think is happening?

Default I got a message that someone had called me at the shop. I'm starting to get confused

at all the different allroads, and who owns them.

Default Nothing. No warning signals at all.

I know we discussed the timing belt kit, but nothing critical seemed to occur. If it were my guess, I think a turbo was blown, but the CEL would come on, right?

Maybe the O2 sensor or the MAF sensor failed because the exhaust note is lower.

Sorry the pic is verry big but I did not have time to scale it down.

Default Well the weather has changed abruptly so it maybe adapting. Or you may have

become used to it. If there are no lights, without a scan and some logging it's hard to say that anything is wrong. Contrary to poular belief there is a temp threshold that reduces boost and power, it's built into the ECU. Atmospheric density increase with cooler air. This is programmed in, and will limit the boost, to maintain the programed torque limit.

Default Thank you. I drove it and everything seemed fine.

I even went to the Advanced Auto Parts near me, checked it with the scanner, and nothing showed up.

Glad we had this conversation because I would have had it towed to you if there was a chance I could futher damage the engine.

Once again this discussion forum has helped me enjoy this ar!
