The Brown Truck Didn't Arrive with the Valco wipers.
I ordered Valco wipers on December 8th, hoping to try them on our trip to Idaho/Montana/Wyoming. No brown truck when I left, or returned, with the Valco wipers :<(. The order was placed via telephone. Called them when I returned and the recording said they were out until after the first of the year. After several more phone calls, it turns out they "lost" my order, but will send a set out right away.
At any rate, it seems their catalogue lists 2001 & 2002 as using the same Valco 22" wiper, but they don't carry a wiper that fits MY 2003 & 2004! No mention of 2005. And, the salesperson wasn't sure whether the passenger side took a 21" blade or a 22" blade (22" is OEM on both sides in 2002). So they're sending out one of each. I'll report next week or so after I receive them how they fit; I won't be up in serious snow for another couple weeks, so no report on snow usage for awhile.
My understanding is that 2001 ARs use front wipers that are different from 2002-2005 and that 2002-2005 use the same front wiper. Driver & passenger side wipers are the same for a given model year of allroad. Am I correct in this?

MY 02 had the same suck*** wipers my 05 had, I just changed them to 01
My 01 had much better wiper performance, so that' what I went back to. Side benefit, I can get wiper blades anywhere for 10 bucks now!

My 04 came with the valeo wipers and the cars on the lot had a mix of old/new wipers...

this was September 03 so I don't know the rational of when they were introduced. I find them great for rain but less than ideal for snow/ice. I'm thinking of going with older style arms and rubber membrane winter blades for winter. The problem seems to be that the low profile of the attachment doesn't allow it to pass over snow/ice resulting in accumulation just about in the middle of the blade. The trap area seems to be the area to the right of the hinge pin and the plastic retainer cap on the left. I took a pic to show the TT forum where the problem was but they were looking at Bosch aero blades which have a different mounting system. (yeah- I gotta resize my sig pic)
