Default Buying a allroad but!

The front passenger airbag is not holding air.

Sure when you let it fill up it will, but the compressor is constantly going and the button on the dash is constantly blinking.

Am I to assume this is not a good airbag?

Also this is a 2002 2.7L and they are asking 7450.00 for it
It is very very clean in and out, has third row seat(if you can call it that)

Everything else seemed good on it.

thoughts?

please help

How many miles? Has the timing belt/water pump/thermostat/tensioners been done? Even if low miles, it should be done after 10 years at the least. Have you had it checked out by an Audi mechanic? Any repaired damage? Hard to know if it's a good value w/o further info.

As to the air springs, figure a pair will need replacement. If going with Arnott's, plan on about $800-900 installed. (OEM would be over twice that). If the compressor keeps running, it too could burn out and could need to be replaced.

Sounds like a lot for 2002 to me. I bought 2001, 6 speed, 5 years ago for 6250 without any issues and in excellent running condition... It wasn't a steal either, I had three to choose from at the time in the same price range, 2001 - 2002, similar mileage (120-140k) but with full service done on each (so relatively to almost new timing belt, one had jsut brakes done and new front OEM bags and other stuff). I eventually went with 01 with new TB, new front bags and some other misc stuff. In very good cosmetic condition.

Miles 90,457,

Carfax shows - Timing belt, Water Pump, Thermostat and tensioner done at 74k at Audi dealership

I looked at the Arnotts replacement kit including the air compressor and it's $1339.99 not too bad would be my guess.

If I can get a year from the ones that it has now.

Over all it drove great, a lot better then the previous 5 I test drove, body was way better as well, no rust at all for a midwest car, just that air bag going down and breaks shaking a bit.(they say they will fix both issues)

We will see what happens, ill keep you posted

The longer you drive with a leaking airbag(s), the more wear and tear on the compressor. Stress the compressor too much, and you are likely to blow the suspension control module, another pricey item.
