Cargo Cover broken. What did you do to replace? (Other then spending $400-$700 on a new one)

Default Cargo Cover broken. What did you do to replace? (Other then spending $400-$700 on a new one)

My cover broke about a month ago and I need to have one but I am not spending the $500 to $700 to buy a new one. I wanted to know if someone out there has a creative/cost effective solution? (With Picture of course)

Default what exactly broke?

we learned here on the forum a month or two ago that the clips that hold it in place when extended actually can be purchased separately - and for a very reasonable amount.

Default What broke? If it was just end tabs.....

.....you can get replacement one from Audi. I've got one going up on eBay in a few days; they seem to go for under $200 if it more than the end tabs.

Default Well I kinda took the whole thing a part so I am not sure what broke

I guess I could order the parts? I had to drill out the screws heads to open the unit up. Is there a DIY on how to fix it?

Thanks.

Default I think for $700 I'd find a way!! If they are green they almost never come up...if grey

then they do appear from time to time, but I have only seen one green come available in the four years I've been here and it was almost $700 off of a totaled car, so good luck fixing it.
