Default Oh well...you asked...

First of all I would want to know "where it has been"...that is a large number of miles for such a new vehicle (I am at 70k in an '01 for comparison...I drive a bunch but the car had been driven lightly when I got it). If it jumps through that hoop, i.e. you look at a carfax and nothing is glaring I'd take to an indy I trusted to check out....the brakes and tires are a good thing but there are a large number of other pricy items that might be lurking and it would be nice to at least know what you are getting...other than that the price is pretty good. If you have driven it you know how much fun it is and practical as an aside

It is at an Audi dealer. :-) or :-(

Unfortunately I am not local and will have to ship it ($1,200)

I drive approximately 5 miles daily with longer weekend jaunts to the mountains.

Carfax looks clean (1 owner) and the selling dealer has been the servicer.

Default One thought is that if someone trades a car back into the dealer that serviced it and they kept it

that might be a good sign...if it were a dog they would surely have sent it away...I vote for happy driving

Default rules of CPO... there are none...

Audi world is rampant with horor stories of CPO cars that were never inspected, that were rubber stammped for the 300 point inspection and "refubishment process". This is not to say that all dealer are bad..but there are a few.

What we suggest is a very thorough inverstigation into the car's history.

How many owners?
Service Records?
Accidents?

The best place to start is right at you local Audi dealer. Being they will be the one servicing it..give them the VIN of the propsed car and they can look up its history in the national database. The add a car fax report to it.

You can also post on the area forum where the dealer is and ask for the feedback on this particular dealer..you may even get another Audi owner willing to loook over the car or at least suggest an Indy to inspect it.

Default I have read good things about the dealer

They gave me the service records (for what its worth)
1 owner
Carfax looks clean
Being in the PNW and having no salt issues, I am hoping 28 months in Ohio hasn't done the car much damage.

Anyone in Ohio willing to give a looky? (No stealing it out from under me ;-)
