consensus on best short shifter? who has what, likes/dislikes. had a neuspeed before and...
had issues with shift **** coming loose, and some notchiness/hard shifting. I know there are 1. Vast, 2. Toyguy, 3. AWE? Probably have someone install it for me this time, because I failed to properly mark where the shift rod was before, and that was 90% of my issue with the neuspeed.

I have the Neuspeed SS and as you say, it is very notchy but the shifter travel is.....
drastically reduced. I am not sure what the diff between having a DTS or not is since I did the DTS & SS install at the same time. On the notchiness, I think that all SS are very notchy, my current Saab 9000 Aero has an SS and it is notchy & my old '83 Rabbit GTI was also very notchy.

I have the vast which is basically the same as the toy guy...
It's just a modified stock shifter. It's a bit notchy but I got use to it. It comes as a screw on shift ****. I actually cut mine down another 3/4" so I had to go with a clamp-on style ****. And you can't beat the price vast has them for.
Install is a bit tricky only getting neutral in the right spot so you can hit all gears with no interference. It took me a couple of tries before I found the sweet spot.

I had and liked the Tanoga....
Throw was drastically reduced, and while effort was higher, I did not have what I would describe as notchiness. I always wanted to add the DTS, but never got around to it.
