Default Couple of sniggles on '02 2.7T - UPDATE

I had a chance to listen to the noise my wife was talking about. When I fired it up this morning the car had a noise that I can only liken to having a Harrier Jump Jet under the hood. The noise is coming from the back of the engine and it was a LOUD air leak noise. So I'm thinking that yes, it is the secondary air pump and it's leaking. I could not see any damage or anything.

Looks like a good reason to go see my local friendly Audi dealer and exercise the CPO.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions.

Default Mine does that all the time. Never thought of it as a problem..........

Every time I start up I hear that jet engine whine for a few seconds and then it gone. I just thought of it as something normal. Anyway it has not been a problem up to now.

Default 2nd my Tip does the same thing on cold mornings. No codes and it runs fine.

My old 01 Tip A6 did the same thing, so I am guessing that this is normal...
