Creaking windshield ???
There is a tapping sound from the windshield when I hit the ruts in the road that are all over this time of the season. I looked up under the dash for any wire loom or cable that could be tapping against the dash or window. My concern is that the windshied has delaminated from it's epoxy mounting. Not possible, right? It has to be a lose wire, right?

Re: I've got the same noise, don't have a clue yet
At certen temp I have a tap, creaking, It's a noise that I have trace to the padding over the speedO, Next time try pinching with thumb an finger on top bottom, the noise goes away in my car.

Are you sure it's not the sunroof? Every now and then I hear a creaking
sound from it. It does not happen much anymore - it was worse when the car was new. Closing the shade would eliminate it.

There was a Service Bulletin on this- had it done on my A6 and the noise went away....
Sounds like the windshield or dashboard is creaking near where the dash contacts the windshield.
The actual problem (at least in my case) was that under the hood, there is a plastic shield between the top of the engine and the base of the windshield. This shield traps dirt and then makes squeeking/ grinding noises. The noise travels up through the windshield and sounds like it is coming from inside.
Have the dealer look up Tech Bulletin 64.98-01 and see if it has been updated to include allroads.
