Default Day two of owing my allroad and it is going to the shop!

Ok, so I bought and picked up a 2002 allroad on Friday, 75 miles later on Saturday, check engine light went on... Day two and it is already headed to the shop...

Had the code read by an indy (P0741) and googled and it is the torque converter, after a bit of discussion the dealer is going to replace it...

The big question is, since it is a big job and he will have the car all opened up anyway, is there anything else I should insist that he change with this job?

Thanks!

same here. i picked mine up on the 9th and its going to the dealer tomorrow.
- brake light switch
- new development, fuel gauge is off by as much as 1/4 tank. i was wondering why my mpg was so crappy. i drive it like an old lady and barely got 275 miles to the full tank. filled it up yesterday, pump clicked, got in the car and the gauge was sitting at 3/4 tank.

i dont care, i love this thing. ill love it even more next wednesday when i take it to go biking and get to drive down the nasty trails to get to the trailhead.

Default That's love

Two days into ownership and you're taking the car in for a major overhaul - and yet you still have nothing but love for it. Wow - not many cars can pull that off!

Nothing that's related to the transmission.

I had the same issue two days after I bought my 04' Was 100 miles from home last thanksgiving. It ruined the week-end (wife was pissed). Could have walked from the car but allowed dealer to fix. 1 year later and I have had new bushings, two front air bags, prop seal and tranny failure. Warranty covered $11k out of nearly $12k.

Still love the bugger but I am one mor big repair away from ditching her. My wife won't even take her on our next road trip out of fear of being stranded.
