Decided: Mintex Red Box w/ OEM rotors for rear. First the S6, but I fear the allroad is next.

Sorry, Paulroad, but this was an easier choice for me than yours was for you. Mintex locally for same as $37 mail order price, and Audi OEM rotors with my discount locally are best cost quality-assured option at $107/pair.

I have the in-famous mintex redbox/zimmerman setup on my front and it does get the good squeal as well. I think that it is buildup on the rotor because if I an going 30+ mph and apply consistent braking but not stopping pressure, it rubs out the build-up and voila, no squeal. Weird huh?

Default I have zimmerman cross drilled and Mintex with no squeal, I did have to bend the dust sheilds back

a litte to clear the new rotors. also I used plenty of brake pad lube on the new pads. I like em. I think I paid $54 for the set of pads from purems.com. and 70 each for the rotors on thepartsbin.com. I may have where I bought each of them backwards but the prices should be right.

UNDecided: just read old posts again, having forgotten girlroad's tale, now thinking PBR or pagid?

read through the thread at the link below. I know personally (not just on line) every one of the guys that responded to that thread and really trust their opinions.

take seriously the recommendations of "kraut-sled" on that thread. he runs the shop I take my allroad to.

http://www.rmcb5.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=4 910&highlight=mintex</a
