Diverter Valves?
A must with a chip? They were on my MKV. Also, will there be a performance boost if I do the DV's first and then chip after that? Want to make her faster...

Re: Diverter Valves?
Diverter Valves seem to almost be a wear item. Over time they lose their ability to hold boost. This is exacerbated when chipped.
The OEM diverter valves for the TT (Audi part #06A145710N hence the shortened name 710n if you are searching) are what many people use and are in the $40-50 range each. This is considered an upgrade from the factory A6/S6 diverter as it is capable of holding additional boost and are not too expensive to replace as a maintenance items.
The "upgrade" from there are the Bosch valves (same maker as Audi factory) DV part# 0280142110 that goes for about $20 more than the 710N at about $60 each. Though these are still a replacement if they fail.
The big ticket valves are the metal body valves that people use when the go to a Stage 3 turbo upgrade. These are user servicable for lubrication and spring replacement. However you can buy several sets of 710ns for the cost of one set of metal valves.

they don't increase power, they do help to hold power during shifts.
as the upgrades tend to be of better quality and less likely to leak. The upgraded Alum valves tend to have faster reaction times than the stock type bosch valves.
The 710n is really all you need with a basic chip.

Re: Diverter Valves?
My 2.7T has 30K on it and seems to run great. Im not really sure if its losing power or anything like that as I havent driven any other AR. I am surprised at how fast it is considering the size and weight of her. I am thinking that a chip is in the future. Im debating on what to get. I am going to do the GIAC trans chip to crisp up the shifts as there is a noticeable pause under hard acceleration if you leave it in D, not so much in sport or tip mode. APR, GIAC, REVO all make the same amount of power but I am trying to find a program that doesnt rely solely on boost but a combination of boost, fueling and ignition mapping.
So chip (trans and motor) and factory upgrade DV it is for me!

They all rely on boost, fueling,& ignition timing.By this time they have all stole each others id
eas. Custom tuning for your particular engine is the only advantage you have left, or if you are lucky enough to guess the right program.
