Default Do it yourself window tint help

I'm in the process of installing some "static cling" window tint to our ar and I'm running into a little bit of a problem with getting the film in between the lower door seal and the glass - does anybody have hints/clues/tricks to do that? I've got the rest of it down pretty good, I'm just having trouble with that last little bit.

The reason I'm doing it myself is that A) our 22 month old isn't a big fan of being blinded by the sun, B) the suction cup look of the child sun shades are simply hideous (and nothing but something else for him to pull down, and C) the wife doesn't want to spring for upgrades on a leased car (so, $25 vs. $250).

Any hints would be appreciated.

Default $250? $142.47+tax + 1hr to install

(They were $120 a year ago - major inflation!) Here's a recent thread on the pros/cons of self-install:

I have window tint and these shades; kids definitely still like the shades, even with the tint.

I drive the kids home 3 nights/wk, 30 minutes each time. Amortized over two years, that's _easily_ $150 worth of whining about the sun!<ul><li><a href="http://collection.audiusa.com/store/accessory.asp?parent%5Fcategory%5Fid=11&amp;catego ry%5FID=51&amp;subcategory%5FID=379&amp;product%5F id=1556">Add-on window shades from Audi</a></li></ul>

Default $250 to do 7 windows.....

I like the way these look - does anybody's kids get hold of them and abuse them? We have a suction cup one on his window now and he yanks that sucker off minutes into every ride and then howls bloody murder when we go around a corner and the sun is in his eyes.

Default Ah, yes, that's the tinting price.

I haven't had problems yet, but my younger daughter - the troublemaker - can't reach them yet...
