Default That does it; even though I like the cold weather - I don't like to see my Battery getting killed...

Cranking the car after parking it for 5 hours was a BIG surprise....click - and that was it :-(
So we pushed the Car in the Garage and put on the Charger for an hour which seems to have done a good job for the Battery, for now ;-)

But I believe after almost 5 years it's time to replace this sucker before things get worse.

Research here shows that a OEM is the ONLY perfect fit and pending on negotiation skills it could be between $120 to $190 for a Battery.

Since this theme wasn't discussed for some time now; are there any new information or recommendations towards other Brand Batteries? Optima, Interstate or Bosch are all nice, but they don't fit 100%.

Default You don't need 100%....

As long as the terminals are oriented correct and the battery hold down clamps can hold it to the body and the access cover can close you are OK. Autozone has it Interstate makes them.
Call Asisco on Rt 1 South Elizabeth, ask for Artie 908-354-7222 They are a big Distributor and have most any battery.

Default Re: We just replaced the one in the Passat. Couldn't find one to fit. edited

Bought from VW dealer for $105. Batteries Plus closest size was $100. Not sure if the Passat and ar have the same battery but the instructions listed both VW and Audi models. The OEM battery died at 4.5 years.

Edit - just checked the Passat is not as long as ar battery. Everything else the same. VW is an option if all else fails.

Default An Interstate MTP 93 Is an exact fit, you just need the hose adapter

I'm an Interstate dealer and I have one in my car. That said the allroad battery tray accepts a WIDE variety of battery sizes! About $95 -105 retail.

Default Re: To bad your not in MN. For the extra couple of bucks the dealer was a good option on the only

cold night we have had this year.

Default I like Interstate because the reserve capacity, CCA, and SCA are all far superior to the

OEM battery

Default Re: Hopefully we'll get 3 years out of this one which is about how long we will keep the car.

Unless I convince her to take the ar and I get an S4 cab sooner.
