Default Does anyone else think that 19 inch wheels

actually look more in proportion with the car than 18 inchers do? I'm gonna get summer wheel/tires this spring and just assumed I'd get 18 inchers, but the car seems to want 19 inchers. What do y'all think?

I feel that a little bit of rubber helps the allroad's rugged looks. =)

Default Will you go off road?

55 series will protect those rims better than 50 or 45 series if you plan on taking the beast off road.

Default So, my 245/50/17s don't protect as well as stock 225/55/17s? =)

Kidding... I know what you meant. =)

I assume that myroad doesn't plan to go offroad, tow, etc... with those 19s. I'd dent rims driving to my house with 19s, given the earthquake damaged streets!

Default the only offroading I do is on my Cannondale Jekyll Lefty

Not in the AR. The 19 inchers just look right to me. Are you a cycling freak. I am. 2 bikes:
the Jekyll 800 ti lefty with XT components, and
TREK 5500 all carbon road bike with Dura Ace/Rolf set up. Talk to me

Default haha - Kona Stinky and Brooklyn Park here...

...plus an Azonic DS1 SS that I'm building up.

BTW, I just learned how to lace wheels using Phil Wood SS hubs to Sun Rhino Lites. Too bad Phil didn't make Audi rims - they're that nice.

Default 19 inch rims with 245/40 tires have 3.9 inch sidewalls

stock is 4.9. does one inch really make that big a difference? S03's have a real nice rim protector. My 9-5 Aero had a thinner sidewall (225/45/17) and I never dented a rim. What think you?

Default I'm sure the 19's would work very well... the one pair I saw in person just diddn't appeal to me...

.... but it's definately a personal preference. =)
