Does anyone else think those lower rocker panels on the new S4 are silly-looking?
You know -- the ones on the ar that are metallic that actually look good. Every photo I've seen of the new S4 look absurd. The car has such great lines but the dumb lower panel things stick out like add-ons. Am I nuts?

They'll be painted in the US. (I assume you mean the door gaurds, and not the rocker panels??)
The S6 has the same "unpainted" version that the new S4 will have in Europe. There are several allroad owners who have swapped their aluminum trim out for the S6's contrasting trim.

What would you think of some rocker boxes below the door trim ?
That would come out even with them and the end of the flair. Sport Performance use to make something for Porsche Turbos in the 80s It would contro the lower panel rock damage and give a lower wider look.

How can those things be door guards when
they're at the extreme bottom of the door? I think they are a gesture at a vestigial sill extension and moto-one is right they should only exist to connect the fender flares (which are not really existent on the new S4). The RS6 IMO handles the sills right with a sill extension that connects the wheel flares. Also, does this mean that the things on the S4 will not be painted in Europe? They look weird, man.

I'm with you all the way - I think they completely ruin the look of the car. Only hope is they don't look a sgoofy in real life as they do in the pictures. But... have you seen some of the early pics of the A4 Coupe - now that is a sweet looking car!
