Default Valve Cover Gasket oil leak

Is this an easy job? How much would you pay for this job or is there a link detailing the steps that we can easily do?

I did this a few months ago. Not too hard if you've wrenched a bit on cars before. Blauparts has kits that includes instructions and there are a ton of DIY articles on the various forums. Go for it, and if you're going to do it, change the valve chain tensioner gasket and cam plugs while you're at it.

A competent Audi mechanic shouldn't charge you more than 1.5 hours per side.

For all seals, it can be about 2 - 2.5 hours per bank.

Absolutely!!! I did this without doing the cam plugs and had to do it all over 3 months later. Shortcuts don't work very well, usually.
Good luck.

My Indy charged $1,400 for it. But, I had a platinum warranty and it payed for it 100%. Now I know why they liked me over there

I wouldn't call it hard to do, but it's sure a PITA for your first time.

An Indy will prolly charge what the book time is for the job...so it's going to be more than a few hundred dollars. But $1400?...boy they raped that warranty company didn't they?
