Is driving in level 1 all the time "tweaking the frame"?
In Dangerman's 10/21 post, he says the following about his 402'd ar:
"The body shop owner tells me that the car's previous owner had driven around in the low setting all the time. In fact, he had it so low , it probably had been sitting on or close to the bump stops. Every time it hit a bump, it tweeked the frame little by little."
My ar is not 402'd and I drive all the time in level 1, since I like the way it handles. Am I "tweaking the frame" by doing this, or is this only a concern if you have 402'd the ar AND drive all the time in level 1? My guess is it's only a problem if you've 402'd the car to a very low degree.
Thanks in advance.

I've noticed that my front H-Sports rub the belly pan in position 1.
In fact, they broke the corner wheel well retaining pins upon flexing during tight turns. I'm going to use a dremel and cut the pan channels a little wider this weekend.

I drive in level 1 most of the time, and am 402'd about 15mm
I can only remember one time where I hit a bump hard enough to hit the stops. No signs of any problems after 25K miles so far.

It's the rubber bumper that keeps the metal parts from smashing into each other at full suspension
compression.
As you compress the suspension more and more, the parts that move are going to hit the bodyshell somewhere, eventually. There will be a hard rubber bumper mounted somewhere to cushion that blow. But it's still a blow. If you lower the car so there's only 2" of suspension travel left, and then go over a bump that generates 2.5" of suspension travel, you'll be hitting the bump stops. do it a bunch and tweak the car.

It's very rare that I ever dirve in anything but #1, 62K and climbing.
That's if the wife makes it home tonight (she has it today because I was putting new brakes on her Subi).
