ECU swap with Immobilizer 3 ... whatzit take? ... Chastity belt Q, too.
There are some folks (not me, you understand) who are thinking of chipping a second ECU and keeping their original ECU stock. This would allow easier dealer diagnosis of any warranty-related issues...
Since our allroads have Immobilizer 3, one needs to reprogram the second ECU with the secret code.
Has anyone done this? If so, how tricky is it? The instructions on the Ross-Tech website seem complicated, but do-able. Complicated enough to make me worried. The dealer talks about the secret code only being good for one day, but the Ross-Tech site instructions have you re-use a code from a past, known date. Does this work?
Does this need to be re-done with each swap of an ECU, or only the first time a particular ECU is introduced to a certain car?
When did the chastity belt first appear on allroads?
Is there anything else I should.. I mean they should... know?

Sweeet!
Yeah, I've sent you e-mail abot Stage 1 and we've talked on the phone about eventual K04 work.
So, a person would get a code-free ECU with chip from you, then send you the stock ECU for code removal, or what? Can the dealer tell it's been played with?
This is removing one of the few reasons I've considered APR. Good man.
Thanx-
