You have a leak not sure if I would go with a head gasket. More likely someplace else. Bring it someplace and have them pressure test the system, no need to guess..

The tank was showing stress cracks, and the hose, which is a 3pc unit that has to be purchased together, was showing some sepage at a connection, but fluid loss never amounted to much.

I understand they can slowly leak w/o a leak being visible. But usually if they start to leak then failure is not far off.

additives. Pour it in the expansion tank, wait a day or so and check using the black light you bought when you were a kid for those wacky posters we thought were so cool. Or find a local indy shop that offers this service.

I added my first 1/3 litre to the coolant reservoir @ 48months/48K miles
