I did it at 5k. Don't know if it's necessary, but I don't think it was too early, as some suggest.

Default I'm at 4300 right now - it's going in at 5k - is synthetic Mobil 1 ok?

I'd actually like to change over to synthetic at that point. Is this too soon? I really think that these being oil cooled turbos, a free flowing synthetic that's less likely to breakdown over 5-10k mi, would do a better job of keeping the internals lubed. Comments?

Default I switched to 0w40 mobil 1 at 5k.....................

there are folks who would say you could do it brand new and there are folks that say synthetic is never ok.

Default do you change the synthetic every 5 or 10k?

I figure if the dino stuff is rated by Audi to go 10k then Mobil 1 should have no problem right?

Default early oil changes, synthetics and the 50k warranty?

Oil changes are supposed to be covered under our warranty... so what happens when you want to put mobil 1 in your car at 5k... (5k sooner then the 10k warranty changes) guess you pay? I imagine you can bring your car and your oil of choice to the dealer and say "Here... when you change the oil use this"...

I'm thinking about doing the mobil 1 thing. How often do folks change their mobil 1? I've never used the stuff before. What weight synthetic oil should I use. Is it subject to ambient temp. like regular oil? (i.e. do you choose diffrent weights for winter and summer?)
