Default exclusions to new car "limited" warranty

I am looking at the purchase of a 2002 allroad privately that is still under the 4-year/50,000 mile "limited" warranty.

Cant seem to find Audi website what mey be excluded from the warranty.

Can some one please give an outline of what would not be covered.

Thanks in advance

Default Normal warranty exclusion: damage, abuse

I spent 15 minutes searching the Audi website and also was unable to find what was "limited".

Just like any other car, if you follow the Audi manual you're okay. You don't change your oil, hit a tree, drive through a lake, throw it in "park" at 50mph-->>you pay, not them. Some things are up for discussion.

What's normal wear and tear and what is a factory defect? I've got an '03 and they replaced the interior door panels for pealing on the door handle after two years and 30,000 miles. That was a pleasant surprise.

When I replaced my tires around 20,000 and the tire wear pattern indicated the alignment was slightly out, Audi said that was my problem. If I had brought it in with only a 1,000 miles or so that would indicate a factory alignment problem but after 20,000 miles hitting a curb or pot hole could have caused the alignment to go out.

Overall the Audi warranty limits are pretty much like everyone else's as far as I know. To find the legal details you might have to visit the dealer or look in the warranty book that comes with the car. (I'm at work and don't have access to my warranty book or I'd look it up and tell you).

Default Like Happy said read the 02 warranty book b4 you buy it..

Also check the VIN number with a dealer's service dept and get the repair history of the car.

Generally everything is covered except the tires. Even the wipers, brakes and battery are covered as there are TWO plans: Warranty and Mintanance. READ everything before you buy it.

Default Audi's "Advantage" is the maintenance or "Audi Advantage" program

that takes its defect repair bumper to bumper warranty (that all cars have some of) beyond typical and covers all but some particular routine repair service or replacement items for the same 4/50 period. Exclusions are few, like alignment, but brakes and wipers are in (although Audi sometimes pays rotors more easily than other times, some experience). Don't sweat this. Get records and then enjoy. Consider if you want CPO or extended warranty plan, but use the 4/50 to the fullest extent possible while you have it. Find a good tech to help you manage this.

Default Battery is a wear and tear item and not covered.

Just replaced the battery in our '01 allroad and it was $190 at the stealership. Autozone didn't have a replacement...

Default Nearly everything covered on new car warranty, CPO a lot different.

New car warranty will cover basically everything except tires and rattles or squeaks (after 12k).

CPO is a lot different and doesn't cover any wear and tear items which can be a LOT of stuff, the CPO is kind of a moving target.

Just bought a '02 S6 which has the new car warranty until June '06 and CPO for 2 years more. Plan to have an indy mech thoroughly go over it and tell me every little thing it needs before new warranty is up and then have the dealer do it all.
