Experience with replacement windshield?
Am finally getting around to dealing with the big bullseye I got in my new '02's windshield this spring. It's not in a crucial area, but the insurance requires that I file a claim now. I've put it off not wanting to get a wavier windshield than I already have. Anybody here have experience/luck getting a relatively clear windshield from Audi? Thanks for any advice.

I got mine replaced after likewise getting a nice crack in it at Stevens Creek Audi. Cost was about $600, IIRC, so I didn't bother submitting a claim to to my insurance. There have been no problems with it as far as I can tell, except one.
About a month after replacement, I got another bullseye, right smack in the middle of the windshield. I haven't repaired that one yet, because I'm still so freakin' steamed about it.

Folks, if you only have a bullseye or a small
nick in your windshield, bring it to your local
glazier (glass shop) for a repair. It should only
cost around $30.00 and you will not disturb the
factory seal of the windshield. Some call it the
"Novus" system. Be careful what you are submitting
to your insurance carrier as claims, as they
do count against your record.

My experience is that windshield insurance claims don't count against your record,
as it's covered under the "comprehensive" section of the policy. Only if you have several claims in a short period of time is it a issue.

Any claim put in on your auto insurance "counts against" you
Trust me, I'm an independent insurance agent
and deal with these issues daily. The same goes
for your homeowner's insurance. Underwriters are
looking at everything. Some free advise.
