Extended Warranty?

Extended Warranty?
I'm picking up an '01 allroad tomorrow.
$36,900 - 23K miles Atlas Gray / Gray Leather, Loaded except for guidance package.
Can't wait to drive it.
Any recommendations on extended warranties? I got a quote on a bumper to bumper 10yr/100,000 mile warranty for around $3400.
Does that seem in line?
Would you recommend spending the extra cash?
Thanks. Looking forward to checking out the board more regularly now...

What company is that quote from?
Is the warranty exclusive? i.e. Does it explicitly list things not covered, and cover all else implicitly? Does it cover twin turbos?
If so, that sounds like a great deal. What kind of deductable does it have? If available in California I might look into that. I haven't seen any 10y/100,000 mile warranties.

Wellll.....
I just bought a 100K/5-year extended warranty for my '01 allroad with 35K miles for just under $2500, and I bought it from my dealer without haggling.
It's exclusionary, and they emphasized that the insurer (Heritage Mutual) had agreed to pay the Audi dealer shop rates (although I can take the car anywhere unless I'm within 40 miles of the dealer) -- meaning I can take it there and have the repairs done to Audi specs (which include both turbos at once).
So $3500 seems kind of high to me.

I kind of like the ability to go to any shop...
I think I'd pay more, if I could have the equivalent level of service performed, by any shop. It'd be hard to verify that sort of thing w/o someone's prior experiance.

Re: What company is that quote from?
It's a 'Bumper to Bumper' with no exclusions that I know of. I will double check on that.
I'm going through a broker to get the car, and I think he mentioned that the company was First Assured. They are a local Denver company here.
I thought that a 10 yr/100,000 mile warranty might be a good idea given the makeup of the ar.

Before you invest $3400 you may want to read the fine print
I doubt that there are no exclusions. In fact, I would bet my allroad on it. They definitely will not cover lenses, tires, glass, etc.
Make sure you know exactly how the process will go when you need repairs. Do they have to authorize? Would they replace the turbos as a pair if one failed as per AoA recommendations?
I opted not to get a warranty because I was not satisfied that it was a good value giving the wide range of gray areas that are sure to just cause me headaches down the road.
I decided to invest in a VAG-COM and Betley and pocket the remaining $3000.

Everyone I've talked to...
in the repair biz (both at the dealer and my GREAT independant mechanic) says taht Western General is the best overall to deal with (they're also more expensive than some, though). I got a 7/100K on my '02 AR from them. From what i understand, the warranty company is the most important thing. anyone can fix the car (well, considering the posts about some of the dealers here, maybe not anyone <g>. Cheers!
