Extended Warranty coverage for the air bags (shocks) does anyone
cover the air bag portion of the suspension. Many will cover the compressor and height sensors etc. But I can find no one who will cover the actual air bags. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Have tried AWB, Autoclub, Ryan AAWarranty. Thank you in advance.

JM&A is Audi's Pure Protection provider, in fact. Gold Key covers air springs, but
to be clear all that I have ever seen exclude "air bag" safety restraint systems - in the steering wheel and other places. You must be sure not to ask about "air bag" coverage and confuse that with air springs in the suspension. The sales person on the phone hears "bag" and thinks SRS and tells you no coverage. Ask about suspension air springs, or see if any exclusions apply. One highly marketed plan I read - forget the name, but I have it somewhere, might be Mercury - actually excludes all springs, air or not.
You may contact me if you need more details. Where do you live?

Thank you to everyone for your responses. Yeh, I was sure to make it clear
that I was refering to the air suspension. And I found that most do not cover the air suspension air bag. Autoclub does. I do not think anyone covered the air bags, they called it a safety issue.

CPO will cover it, but be careful
the waranttee clearly states that wear and tear items are not covered. In my opinion, 99% of the air bag replacements have been wear and tear - look at the pictures that have been posted, these are bags that have simply fatigued. Their failure is premature (based on crap engineering) but it is wear and tear not abuse or manufacturing defect. My dealer took the uninformed approach and said "oh yeah, thats defective, it shouldn't have failed at 60,000 miles (just like 50% of the other allroads out there). So just go with it and say "Its defective not wear and tear"

Interesting...
AWB covered mine, but I have an 'older' warranty (purchased Nov 2003). And the last one that failed, they tried to get out of covering it (until I reminded them that they'd already covered one of them before).

Re: Extended Warranty coverage for the air bags (shocks) does anyone
I bought AUL out of Napa, CA (the Reserve policy) and it looks like it will cover it, as it is not specifically excluded and they wrote it for an allroad...i.e. assume they know what parts it has. I have already used this to cover tie rod ends and plan to keep my allroad at least until the warranty expires at 86,000 I hope this isn't too late to help.
