Default falken ziex 512s...and opinions about Acura NSX

I finally had my stock Pirelli Allroads replaced with Falken 512s... holy crap, what a difference. The car is much quieter and the grinding sound when stopping is gone. Thank god for this website, because the dumbasses at Discount Tire recommmended the stock Pirellis.

I'm thinking about replacing my '02 M3 Convertible with one of the newer Acura NSXs. Any of you have thoughts/experience with either of these cars? I like my M3, but just ready for a change.

Exotic, Honda reliable, $, rare (obscure?). Convertible BMW is nice, but getting old. Tough call.

I've had the falkens for about 10K. Once I got them properly balanced I was pleased with them. Discount Tire couldn't get them balanced after two tries. The Audi dealership did it after I gave up on Discount Tire. The tires were quiet until recently. Now they roar pretty loudly. Still for the price I'm pleased.

Default The Acura is a great car but well underpowered by todays standards.

A rare car that holds good value, but still underpowered. Another rare sports car with great reliability and much more power Toyota Supra TT. It also has a back seat.

My father picked up one of the first NSXs in 1991 (unfortunately right when I left for univ.!), then picked up a '92 after it was stolen 7 or so years ago.

The handling and engine note still impresses me in a big way, and don't be fooled about the "low" power, it will still walk my chipped B5 S4 - it is a light car. Later versions have the 3.2 and 6-speed, but earlier versions are a couple hundred pounds lighter, and the difference is a wash.

As far as I am concerned, there is still no car available with the steering feel of the NSX. You will be impressed even after your M3 experience (which is no slouch either...). This thing stock eats up most cars at a track day - if there is the possibility of track time in your plans, forget about the Supra...

A big following at www.nsxprime.com. Not too much options for power, a few people have turbo'd now that AEM has the EMS (programmable ECU) available for it.

As a side note, my father is sort of offering the '92 NSX to me since he finally ordered his dream this summer, an F430. I'm not really sure about it though, it might not see much use since I'd rather ride the bike, especially at the track, and I already have too much unfinished business in the garage ...

Default POS falken ziex 512s

Just had the falkens fitted and ...
HATE them. Total POS. Noisy, noisy, noisy.
Grip is average and they don't have a very large footprint for their size. The only upside I've seen is they're relatively quiet when sliding.

They'll be gone soon thankfully.

Noisy compared to what? Not OEMs. Perhaps you expected or need a performance tire?

Default My NSX is 15 yrs old...

Had it since new, and pretty much serviced it myself. PM me if you have any specific questions.
