Default Finally picked up my new purchase - 2002 black Allroad...

had the bumbers and wheel trims painted black and the rest of the car was wet sanded were necessary + new 18" BBS CH with Conti Extremes = car looks awesome

drove by mechanic where all my parts are being sent for Stage 3 and they loved the car - they can't believe that my wife doesn't know what is about to be done with the car

parts that have arrived
- K04s - thx Jacob
- bipipe + snub + downpipes - thx APR
- wheels (BBS CH) - thx TireRack
- DTS + spacers - thx Mike AWE

still to come
- exhaust - APR (next week)
- fueling - AWE (Mike needed the Box ID - on its way)
- Silver StopTechs with drilled rotors - 2 weeks
- clutch, KO4 pipes, (somewhere in England - Alex Europrice hury up please)
- RS4 ICs - Alex @ Europrice for the good deal

Got my first real drive in the Allroad today on the streets of NYC and off the island visiting Mike at Tyrolsport for the rim install / HSport dropoff. For those that have not driven an Allroad, think of a very fat stock S4 - but, I will say that it is very comforting to have a car that you can relax in (suspension) yet looks great and will soon have way too much power for the suspension to handle. On this note, I will be installing the AWE Flashloader K04 software - therefore, I will keep the software set at stock for the wife nd kids but have the flashloader in the glove compartment for me to use when I borrow the car.

Will keep you posted on my crazy mission, but should you see a black Allroad with BBS CH's on it with 2 kids in the back seat that will be my wife driving and me sitting in the passanger seat.

Default Those are nice rims...

I almost had a deal on some...I am keeping my eyes open. Sounds like a nice project. We will need a NY Metro get together to see how it comes together...Paul?

Did you wet sand the whole car? Not worried about losing that clearcoat? I bet it looks great though.

Default answers...

Mike was recommended to me be guys on Audiworld who used him. When I move to NY last year, I had a turbo blow on the way down. I phoned Mike, he drove out to the city to see by car, he diagnosed it immediately as a blown turbo. I gave him the keys - I guy I had only known for 5 minutes. He got it fixed - pulled the engine, replaced the turbos, installed a bipipe, VAST intake spacers and the also hooked up my Apexi Boost guage. He also track prepped my car for a weekend at Watkins Glen (corner balance, allignment, fluids, etc. and after the event replace one of my Stoptechs when the bridge bolt stripped.

Good local guy

He is a GIAC reseller and has done a number of Stage 3 B5S4 installs

Default I know him well..

Just a caution... I won't say anything negative publicly, E-mail me if you would like more.

There are other shops available for this level of work in the area..

Default Seems like you already did.....

"I won't say anything negative publicly"

We have done MANY k04 installs and beyond without a hitch.

Why not just contact me with any grievances? I thought we were all squared away? Send me an email if you would like to discuss what reservations you have about recommending us!
