Default FS: GIAC ECU chip and Tip chip for '02 allroad

My allroad is gone. I moved on to a Touareg. Now that I have no use for the GIAC chips, I am taking offers for both as a set. Anybody interested? What do you guys think these are worth?

Thanks!

Default sooooo you just have the giac "eprom" do you have the encryption board?

If you only have the chip, it's worth about $40.00. If you have the X chip and Encryption board, then it's probably worth $350 or so (someone is going to have to pay a gIAC dealer to desolder their stock eprom and have this one soldered in).

The tip chip, if you paid over $500 for it, it's probably worth $450 or so (depends, these parts really don't have anything that can fail and really no part that can wear). So you don't take the normal 50% hit when selling used ECU's programs that you would when selling other parts (my opinion only)

Default My chips are mounted on socketed boards...

I have the chips and they are mounted on what I believe to be encryption boards. I'm pretty sure the ECU was the X-chip program. I can call my tuner and verify if anyone is interested.

My allroad was setup for two modes: chipped and stock. All I had to do was swap the daughter boards in the ECU and TCU and I could go back and forth. To the best of my knowledge, a new owner would only need to have their ECU and TCU de-soldered and pinned. Then the parts I'm selling would simply plug in.

Default Okay makes sense. Then you have the encryption board.. thanks for clarification

For those that don't know

The encryption board is really the costly piece and it allows the code to appear normal to the vehicle.

Eprom just the code is usually like $40.00, the Encryption board is what brings the price over the $500 mark for GIAC chipping.

I don't have any experience with the TIP chip.

However the GIAC code for the 02 is probably worth $350 to someone I would think. But since it's not in an ECU and someone takes the cost of having a GIAC dealer do the soldering maybe $250-$300.00

I have a GIAC tip chip and love it! It cost me $300 for chip, $50 for a socket and $75 labor.

I've put the chips up on the AudiWorld classifieds. Just search for allroad and you'll find the ad.
