Default location? anticipated weather? driving style? tolerance for noise, tram-lining, etc?

These things affect the definition of "good".
Also long wear and good handling are mutually exclusive, to a first approximation.

Default Falken Ziex ZE-512

We replaced the Pirellis at 22k with the Ziex's in the stock size and are very happy.

Good handling, good ride, quiet, W-rated, 30k tread wear warranty, inexpensive. Also #1 rated high performance A/S by Consumer Reports.

Default I know. I can at least try.

If he wants a set cheap to beat on, why not.

Default Re: location? anticipated weather? driving style? tolerance for noise, tram-lining, etc?

mostly in north carolina and maryland. i tend to drive excessively agressive. i can handle some noise if its a better tractioned tire. i want something that will stand up to being tracked every once and a while. and what is tram lining?

thanks
jesse
