Default GRRRR!!!! D@mned dealer just called, they can *not* align the car in level 1. WTF?!

Their alignment rack is plugged into the stupid vehicle computer and won't give readings unless the ar is parked at level 2. Thus, they have no way with their machine to align it on level one -- where I always keep it.

I guess one could 402 the car down a whole level before taking it in for alignment, then put it back up after. Has anybody figured out another solution?

I have a whole bucket full o' curses for the Audi fools who are making systems so integrated and user-lockout-based that they hinder ownership more than help it.

What's the big dealer? Does caster, and toe change as car is lowered?

Default I assume camber does.

Since my tires are always worn on the insides.

I dont think camber is adjustable, IIRC only can be equalized side to side.

Gragravar is right, but all the of the angles change as the car is raised or lowered.

Default Camber and toe change. Camber goes -1/4 for each level change, and toe

goes toe in in the rear as you lower. I played with the camber readings on my car as I 402'd a couple of years ago. In the front, if you 402 to lower the car by 12mm in the front, you end up with -1.75 degrees in the front. Can't be adjusted so you need to rotate frequently. Same thing in the rear, but you can adjust the rear.

I just took my car to a good indie alignment tech and had it done on L1. Only thing he couldn't do was VAG the steering input after adjusting front toe, but I did it myself so no big deal.

That's why I raised mine .5 inch. At level 1 I'm only half of the caster, camber change,
