(HELP) Wheel shake issues ( HELP)
2002 2.7t allroad with tip
the problem is car shakes starting from 40 mph - 70 steering wheel shaking left to right about 1-2 inches Kind of feels like a wheel balance problem heavier shaking faster i go and shake when i hit the brake at 40 mph +
thought I solved the problem with new control arms but no
so far all new control arms, tie rod ends inner and outer,
new rotors and brakes new front air struts new tires and wheels (oem a8) all balance right The only thing i havent done was the alignment ,ill do that this sunday So with all that money and time spent I still got no clue
Fyi car still shakes with stock wheels ,after market wheels and the a8 wheels
all with new tires any help would help so i could stop pulling my hair out .

I don't think your problem is with the alignment, but I'm stumped. You sure the CV joints are OK? I hear they can cause shaking........
You've tried a set of tires from another allroad that doesn't shake? Are the stock wheels you mention stock to this car and didn't shake before? Are A8 wheels the same hub size as A6 and allroad wheels? The reason I ask is that people are always changing wheels on MINIs and often the hub size is different, so you need a hub ring. That sounds exacly like what this is.....

if the axels have been changed with the host of other parts you mentioned I would venture a guess as to a bad drive shaft. maybe see if someone in the area does driveshaft balancing to rule that out.

I had a wheel shake that felt like off balanced wheels, or missing hub ring at 60+ mph accel & decel when ever it felt like it.....but i knew one of my engine mounts was leaking...........replaced both engine mounts, & snub mount = no shake now
