here are some logs of awe rsk04 kit in allroad running 93 octane

1st one is actual a/f ratio using wideband o2 sensor. all graphs are 2000 to 7000 rpms in 3rd gear

any thoughts? did i miss graphing something important?

Is this still the first-pass programming?

It looks to be running rich. It would also be neat to see knock sensor voltages graphed against rpm instead of time.

are you thinking of jumping on the ECU Explorer sale? I'm goin' for it.

ECU Explorer sale? Please catch me up

skidmark 11-04-2004 02:17 AM

original program, there is no rpm indicator in log blocks of knock voltage and was worried that

logging another would just slow down sample rate even more(guess that's why ecu explorer would be nice) : )

i thought a/f ratio looked fine for a turbo car. if it was leaned out then knock voltage(it might even detonate, everything i have read says 29 volt is saturation point) would go up and timing would drop.the above points about a/f ratio stuff is my assumption of course, someone please correct if wrong. why do you think it is rich? all the a/f ratio stuff i've seen posted here is sensor stuck in tail pipe after catalytic convertor which doesn't give accurate info, the sensor i'm using is put in o2 bung i welded in before cat.

here is graph done with wideband sensor of apr v5 k03 93 octane program(this graph is 1st thru 3rd) running in my allroad also before changing to giac. in the end i guess we will found out if it changes when awe does dyno work. that's why i did logs, to have a before and after. : )

Would some adjustment using Lemminwinks help?

Down load it and see what it does. Its made by REVO and you can tune via the VAG Port certain aspects of your Timing, RPM, A/F etc.

http://www.saradon.com/lemminwinks.exe</a

It's been a while since I saw Audi datalogs but looks pretty good.

You are running 1.3 bar of boost (19psi). So, there is room to crank it up. My car peaked at 1.5 bar (22psi). Also, the a/f ratio seems like 10.9 to 1. I don't have my magnifying glass at hand, so, correct me if I'm wrong. ;) That ratio CAN be leaned out a bit. My Evo is set at 11.8 to 1 on 93 octane.

You are going to make more power when you get your car tuned. That's for sure.

I have a feeling that detonation is going to be a concern. My Evo runs high boost with modest timing. Gas octane is a major limiting factor. Beyond 21 psi I need either 100 octane, c16 or water injection. I bet this applies to your motor too. I would be very interested in what the experts at Awe think about this.

By welding a O2 sensor before the cat, you are getting a true reading of a/f ratio. IIRC, after-cat

would read .2 leaner.

One of my options is to weld a wideband and tune the car myself. All the tools are available including the basemap. But, with "Preston the crybaby" driving us crazy, the last thing I need is a time-consuming hobby.

here is a graph w/knock and timing logged along w/rpms for 5 and 6 cylinder(lost 1 2 3 4 cyl data)

hard to see boost on graph but it ranged from 18.25 to 20 psi(19 average is good)

a/f ratio starts at 11.5 to 1 and drops to 10.8 to 1.can't really say that all cars should run the same a/f ratio(depends on how good of a combustion chamber design the cylinder has) mustangs normally aspirated run 12.5 to 1 and nitrous/boosted run in the 11.5 to 1 range but have seen guys run in the high 10 to 1 range. at least we have something to compare to for after it goes down for dyno time.
