hi guys, considering Allroad as 2nd car..
for rain/snow/utility...
what are performance numbers for Allroad, 2.7 & 4.2? Tip vs. 6?
Also, do you think used ones are something to consider vs. new?
Thanks in advance! :-)

With a 6 speed and just a chip, I ran 14.5 in the quarter...
Expecting some 13.9's with exhaust and race gas very soon.
Of course if you start modding the allroad, the SMG might become the 2nd car
A few of use have actually beaten M3's...of course it was either raining or they were parked
How do you like the SMG? I heard the shifts are real quick.

yeah it's lightning quick.. faster than Ferrari's F1..
the launch control also gives me an edge on stop light wars that require optimum traction on launch.
It's a blast so far to drive the SMG, I drive it on manual 99% of the time, going to auto mode when i'm too busy with my hands with cellphone and/or eating.
The SMG on the track is where it will shine, or on twisties because of the advantage in shifting as far as speed to shift, and of course more attention to the road. Also, the SMG has a rev. limiter, there's a torque adjustment for different drive levels, and you can stack your gears (ex: when you know you are at 4th and you want to go to 2nd but can't coz of speed, you double downshift and it remembers to downshift twice when it's ok to).
Lots of other info. SMG is another dimension in driving and a lot of fun.
Anyway, if you have more specific questions let me know. Thanks for answering mine! :-)

Absolutely... the allroad is a perfect 2nd car!
Stock 6spd 0-60 performance is 6.8s. 7.3s for the tip.
A good friend of mine has an 02 w/ SMG. In comparison to the allroad, it's super bumpy and noisy. Seems a waste for his 5mile commute. If only he'd take it out and flog it in a proper setting! And of course, all through ski-season, he's comfortably sitting in the back of my allroad on the way to the slopes. =)
The allroad is the ideal car for passing every SUV on the mountain... X5's included. It's definately not a sports car, but it can out perform any other comparibly utilitarian AWD vehicle.
