High Pitched Whinning noise when cold
Is there some sort of motor that runs when you first start the 2.7 up. I get this high pitched noise until the engine reaches a certain temp and then the noise suddenly quits. Sounds like something shuts off.

It is the secondary air pump. Some noise may be normal, but the high pitched whine is not. Mine was loud enough to be annoying and embarrasing. It is at the dealer as we speak being replaced under warranty.

It should be just like a vac sound no pitching. Only on start up when cold. And if you take off right away it will restrict accel and boost.
think of it as a starting up program that protects your engine from operating at max before its ready. it should not take to long before it sounds normal after start up.
