how I spent my day - detailing the rover. ran out of daylight before I could do the Audi

I hadn't spent any time detailing or putting wax on it since buying the rover back in February. I decided that it would be good to get it nice and clean and get a good solid layer of protection down before winter. so, here are some photos from the day today:

it started off pretty damn dirty:

paint's condition just doesnt look so good beforehand.

even after washing you can see the nasty swirls in the paint

after cleaning the car, it was time to get debris out of the paint with a claybar

then out came the porter cable, an orange pad and the polish/swirl remover

then on to the Klasse all in one which offers some excellent acrylic sealer to protect the paint, this was put on and buffed with the PC and a white pad

after adding the klasse to the whole truck, it was kinda hazy. ;-)

that wiped up easily with a microfiber towel leaving the finished product:

clean paint down the side

and my favorite, no more swirls in the paint:

At least when I do the audi, I'll be starting with paint that is in better condition.

NICE JOB!!!

Can you come to ny and do my ar! I buy you a beer!

Odd, I spent my day detailing my Rover too.

Added front suspension and axle tube today. Only about another year of effort to go. I don't think she'll ever be as shiny as yours though.

Hmmm, might need to tidy the garage some time. My wife won't let the allroad in the garage right now. I think she's afraid I'll scavenge parts off it for my project.

make that a plane ticket and a beer and I'll think about it. ;-)

you've got your work cut out for you there

Very nice work..... Detailed my ar & 2nd car too over the weekend...

Gave my ar the winter detailing. Also used Klasse AIO. Hadn't considered using my PC, it always comes out so nice just by hand, but I'll have to consider that if I need to polish out something difficult. They have something called EuroSunday out here once a month. Took my 1971 Fiat out there today among the Ferraris, BMWs & Porsches. Was pretty cool. Yes, that is the original color.
