Ideas for new mod on cupholder?

My center console pop up cup holder decided to stop working today. The one by the emergency brake level on my '01. So thought I would see what ideas we could come up with for a nice mod I will tackle. Would love to add TPMS to the system but open to ideas.

That seems to be it's life span on a '01. Mine STB last month.

What? Nobody has any ideas?

I am surprised with all the mods here and on Navplus.us that no one was able to think of something useful (or not) to replace the now useless cup holder!
