Default Safe? As I understood jack mode it was to keep the compressor from running if the car

"felt" it wasn't level...now whether or not your cars felt "safe" or "level" under these conditions is a whole different story

Default Just some thoughts. My feeling is jack mode is for the use of a jack and not a lift.

when using a jack to lift one corner of the car the system will try to compensate. when using a lift all four wheels come up together & the system never tries to compensate for the high ride height like it realizes this is the case. I do use it on customer cars but will often lift my car without using it. It has always been at the original height when returned to the ground & you hear no venting of pressure. I have heard people question weather not using jack mode blew their bags. I don't understand this because even if the system did try to compensate is some way it would only be venting pressure from all the bags not increasing.
If any of you have had a rover with bags you would appreciate the brain behind the Audi system. you lift a rover without putting it in jack mode & it comes down and is so low you can't get it off the lift.

Default heyyy that would me my picture!

if the car is off while on lift/jack, i dont really think it should be too much of an issue, would it?

it wouldnt be trying to compensate for anything, if it is off, right? otherwise there would be the potential of killing the battery?

take the people with leaky bags...you see the pictures of one corner sitting super low while parked, but once you turn on the car it inflates and lifts back up.

thats my logic of it all.

Default well, for me...

One time I tried jacking up the car without it in jack mode and I kept lifting and lifting... but the wheel stayed on the ground. I lowered it back down, put it in jack mode, and jacked it up. The tire (front) came off the ground after jacking it up about half as far as I had before.
