I'm leaving the fold

I'm leaving the fold
With 118K on the allroad and the near monthly $1K in repair costs, I've decided to hang it up. I still really like the car, but I'm just so worried what expensive thing will go wrong next. We had a freak snow storm the last week of October and had 9" in our neighborhood, my wife was unable to get up our driveway with her AWD Explorer to pick our son at his school. She called me and I left the office, picked him up in the allroad and drove home without any problem at all.
I still want an all wheel drive wagon, and found a what I think is a great deal on an executive demo BMW 535XI. It a 2008 with 6300 miles, nearly every option in it but the Sport package, not a mark any where on the exterior. I found a cover for the inboard left side latch child seat mount missing, and the plastic button in the rear seat center shoulder harness missing. These will be replaced before I pick the car up on Friday.
The thing that closed this deal was the financing 0.9% is really hard to turn down. It makes no sense to make a down payment, the salesman told me that people who are trading cars in take the cash instead of applying towards the purchase price.
This has been a great place, I've learned a lot from everyone here, and I'm sorry it had to end for me. When the torque converter failed just outside the warranty and my dealer of AoA would do nothing to help, I decided to spend my money elsewhere.

Another forum site
Also look at www.bimmerforums.com
Good site for the older models (I have a 1996), bimmerfest is a bit "chatty", but either site, the older cars are mostly owned by kids now.
Enjoy the car & safe travels

10k less than the MSRP
ended up at 54K. Equipment includes, Premium package, Cold weather package, Sat Navigation, Logic 7 sound system, Satellite radio, HD radio, auxiliary input, A/Trans, Park distance control, manual rear side window shades, Comfort Access key less entry, rear seat air bags. Like I said it is well equipped, missing only the sport package which has 20 way adjustable seats instead of the standard 10 way, and some changes to exterior trim, and a different steering wheel.

Re: 10k less than the MSRP
Thanks very much. Sounds like a helluva deal. 10k off MSRP. Wow. I would really like one. Pity about the sport pack - but it is not like the suspension is different as wit RWD sports pack cars.
You might want to think about the M aero kit and some new wheels. The wagons look really good with a bit of work. See the pics I posted at https://forums.audiworld.com/allroad/msgs/249814.phtml

Yes, peak torque occurs at 1400
And stays flat until about 5000. I'm pretty excited, I guess I'll spend the evening sitting in the car setting up all the selections in the dreaded I drive system.
I checked out the other forums mentioned, they do not compare to this one. I peaked into one of the early 3 series forums, seems like a high school party. The aggravating no caps, no punctuation and plenty of stupid responses.
