Installing Audi IPOD Interface Means No Satellite Radio?
I learned from my dealer that Audi now makes an iPod interface for the Allroad Symphony radio, but that the cost of installation is giving up satellite radio since there is only one inut jack in the back of the unit. I am hoping that there is a splitter or another kit available that would address this, and would greatly appreciate any leads.

Don't panic............Check NSXJR.Com for the info you need
The sat tuner has a switch in it that allows a "cd changer" and sat tuner to work in harmony. Audi dealer = doofous

Agreed. TeddyBGame canbuild you a harness to have Sat and IPOD...
That's what he built for me but although I've done the XM installation, I haven't done the IceLink adapter for the iPod installation yet.

Many thanks. I figured that the posters on this board would be more informed!

my reply is based on the OEM sat tuner but a solution exists for non-oem as well.

If you have an in dash cd changer, you can have both, though maybe not with the OEM kit

You can keep satellite. Here's what you need.
I'm in the exact same boat--I have factory XM. I did a lot of research on this and ordered everything last week from Enfigcarstereo.com. Don't go with the Audi interface--use Dice. It's supposed to be much better (I forget the exact reasons, but you'll find them if you search the forums). Enfig (and TeddyBGame) sell a cable that you need if you want to keep the XM working. I hope to have my system installed this weekend, and I'll post a message with pics next week.
Lots more info in my 2 previous posts on the subject: Parts I ordered: https://forums.audiworld.com/allroad/msgs/205299.phtml All my research: https://forums.audiworld.com/allroad/msgs/201648.phtml |
Check in the audio forum about my ipod setup
Like Paulroad said. I have an ipod setup that I don't have the time to install. Please contact me so I can give you the details.

And another option
I did this option on my S4. Works fine, I think I spent about $30 in parts. Order the PIE harness from crutchfield, it's cheap.

https://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec140.shtml</a
