No, the switch panel can be easily remove without removing the door panel....google it, there is a hole in the front bottom IIRCC in where you insert a thin dowel to release the clip on the front of the window switch panel, then it slides up and out.

anyone have any recommendations on which master switch to buy? I need the housing as well and I am really not interested in the OEM as it sounds like the China stuff is better quality...

thanks!

This problem can be fixed without soldering, simply removing the two springs from the lock button so it stays down worked for me.

Thank you for the tip. I finally got around to working on this. I found a great video on YouTube. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=udVEorEUhFI
The most difficult part was getting the switch out of the switch housing.

I picked up switch from eBay for $15. The button action isn't as smooth, but I think it will work well enough.

Default Rear window child lock broken

I have a 2006 A3 S-line I just replaced the master control on the drivers door but it’s still not allowing you to use the back door controls to roll the window down. I can roll them down from the drivers door but that’s it. It’s preventing me from driving Uber and I really need it fixed. Anyone please help!!
