Default Latest addition to the family

Well we're through having kids, so that isn't the case.

With the recent passing of my father, he left me his last impulsive toy purchase...that he unfortunately barely got to drive. The car was only six months old and had only 300 miles on it when I picked it up at their place in Oregon. He passed away down in Texas from a heart attack while working on their house there. Cheers dad; wish you were here to enjoy it.

I'm selling several vehicles for my mom that they had spread across three states; now all located in Calif or Oregon. Not pimping the forum, but just looking for good homes for these. Default Mine was too...just think of this scenario and I hope it will help....

he would have his amazing, screaming red plastic hotrod, looking fast just sitting still next to your attractive in a "isn't it very sporty and fun for a station wagon" kind of way allroad. He revs his engine and it has that amazing rumble that only those cars have (kind of like a Harley IMO) and you start up and while you're thinking about what gear to put it in he is waving at you from the next block down

So sorry for your loss...just think his legacy lives on in the car and your love for cars, maybe you will pass that on to your son or daughter or other family member.

Default So true; thanks. I still love my Audi's and this red plastic car is a beast. For an old pushrod,

what an engine.

From a truly selfish perspective, I'd love to go trade this in on a RS4 or a used RS6...but I've made a promise to myself that I'll keep the car out of sentimental reasons, and pass it along to my boys. Perhaps a silly reason to some, but the money isn't really an issue to have something that meant something to my dad.

My dad had also been storing my very first car for some 15 years or so (since I got married, had kids). He helped me buy it, a 1967 RS SS Camaro, and fix it up starting when I was 14. It took the two years till I reached driving age to get this "fix'er up'er" running and in shape. We spent a lot of time together on this project, and I'm glad to have this piece of our lives together as well. Again; my two sons will have to battle out which one gets which of cars... ;-)

I'm a big fan of recognizing and saluting those that mentor and shape your life. Like many in this forum, and what makes it a wonderful place to hang out, is that so many offer a helping hand and dedicate a piece of their lives.

Thanks for sharing.
