Lookig to buy an allroad.....

....but need your helps/suggestions.

Ladies and gents, new to the forum and new to Audi's (well as soon as I buy one).

I am looking to buy an allroad, but before I do, I wanted to seek your wisdom and ask for your help in a few things I should be aware of when looking for the vehicle. What are some of the typical issues/problems/good-to-knows when test driving or checking out the car?

I have been looking around for a 6MT allroad for a a while now, hard to come buy, and because of that I want to make sure I make the right decisions.

So any help/input you can spare would be appreciated.

Welcome Tamas ...

you'll get a myriad of answers on this topic, but basically:

try for an 05 if possible - finding a 6MT will alleviate the transmission problems which are prevalent in the 2.7T - lowest mileage you can find - and proper maintenance documentation - if the mileage is over 70K, determine if the timing belt maintenance has been done - you'll find plenty of knowledgeable folks here to help you - good luck and keep us posted!

Check out allroad faq, great source.

Known weak spots:

Front air bags
cam sensor seal
throttle bodies
torque converters 01-early 04

Never buy one without a warranty.

Thanks guys for the suggestions......I am going to be looking at the vehicle tomorrow and will go over it the best I can.

The one I am looking at tomorrow is a silver on silver (no two tone body cladding :( ) 2005 6MT with 97100kms, the dealer claims that it is a very clean car - but they do not have service records for it.

They also say it has the "premium package" -- what exactly is that? What were the options?

I'd keep looking if I were you - that mileage is way high - ideally you want to find one under 60,000 miles WITH A WARRANTY

97100km = 60335.142 miles so its pretty close :)

Problem is, finding a 6MT as I refuse to drive an auto, as for the warranty....will see what the dealer can offer.
